NOVEL is Quills' own collection of choice teas and botanical blends.  From bold and brassy Irish Breakfast to delicate Jasmine Pearls, NOVEL infuses tradition with imagination in both flavor and ceremony.  Each of our fourteen full-leaf teas may be enjoyed by the cup or with a full tea service.  Tea from a teapot, not from a bag? What a novelty!


Earl Grey
This proper British favorite combines an assertive Yunnan black tea with oil pressed from bergamot, a small citrus fruit from southern Italy.  Its light, lemony aroma provides the perfect mid-afternoon treat.


Irish Breakfast 
Harvested from the antique tea trees of Yunnan, China, our Irish Breakfast is robust, malty and satisfying.  A perfect breakfast tea, it will have you stepping 'round brisk as the Irishman's flea.


Darjeeling Second Flush 
This elegant and intriguing tea comes from the second harvest of the season (hence second flush) in the mountains of India. Darjeeling teas are prized as being the most wine-like of all teas, boasting some complex fruit and floral flavors.


Keemun Mao Feng 
Our black tea from Hubei, China is distinguished by a rich flavor and aroma of earth, toast, and pine. Mao feng teas have a broad, curved, flat shape, considered one of the choicest shapes of tea leaf.


Jasmine Pearls 
This tea is a delight to the senses: watching the hand-rolled tea "pearls" unravel in the cup, breathing the sweet aroma of jasmine blossoms, tasting the fresh flavor of this light green tea from Fujian, China.


Sencha 
To create our Sencha green tea, tender tea leaves from Japan are selected and steamed to give them an uncommonly fresh and juicy character.  This traditional process has established Sencha as one of the most celebrated styles of Japanese green tea.


Spring Blossom Green 
With delicate springtime aromas of fresh-cut rose, lemon myrtle and orange blossom, this mellow green tea is a refreshing sweet treat.


Iron Goddess of Mercy
This light, golden oolong from Nantou, Taiwan is baked according to tradition over bamboo coal, producing flavors redolent of roasted grain and fruit.   Named for Tae Guan Yin of Buddhist lore, its character changes with each re-steeping.


Yerba  Maté
Though not technically a tea, this infusion from Argentina packs a healthy dose of caffeine in addition to antioxidants and sundry vitamins and minerals.  Maté is an herb, indigenous to the Amazon and ethically grown and harvested for our providers.  Its flavor hints at oak and tobacco, a nice balance of sweetness and astringency.


Harvest Peach White 
The most subtle of teas, white tea is made from silvery leaves that are delicately dried, lending them unique honey and floral flavors.  Our white tea is accented by peach essence and oil pressed from orange and tangerine.


Blueberry Red Bush 
Naturally caffeine free, Blueberry Red Bush is blend of African rooibos and wild blueberries, lightly sweet and tart.  This juicy herbal infusion is loaded with antioxidants and delicious hot or iced. 


Peppermint Red Bush 
African rooibos and peppermint are blended to soothing perfection in this herbal tisane.  Naturally sweet and refreshing, this infusion may be enjoyed hot or iced.


Chamomile Sunset 
Perfect for a quiet night in, this herbal infusion is an idyllic blend of calming chamomile, lemon myrtle and spearmint.  Deep breath now.
